Description

Refreshing and antioxidant-rich Blueberry-Lemon Green Tea, combining the natural sweetness of blueberries with zesty lemon and soothing green tea. Perfect for a healthy, flavorful beverage to enjoy chilled.

Ingredients

Scale

Blueberry Juice

  • 16 ounces frozen blueberries, or 2 cups fresh blueberries or blueberry juice
  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ cup organic raw sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (from the ½ cup total)

Lemon Green Tea

  • 6 cups green tea (or black tea as a substitute)
  • 6 tea bags or 6 teaspoons loose tea leaves
  • ½ cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed (about 4 lemons total, including the tablespoon used above)

Instructions

  1. Make the blueberry juice: In a medium saucepan, combine the blueberries, water, raw sugar, and 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Use a potato masher or immersion blender to crush the blueberries, releasing their juice. Strain the mixture through a sieve, reserving the juice and discarding the pulp. Allow the juice to cool completely.
  2. Make the lemon tea: Boil 6 cups of water. If using green tea, cool the water to 170-180°F before steeping for 3 minutes with the tea bags or loose tea leaves. For black tea, steep immediately with boiling water for 5-7 minutes. Strain out the tea leaves and allow the tea to cool.
  3. Combine and serve: In a large pitcher, mix the cooled blueberry juice, cooled tea, and the remaining lemon juice. Add ice or refrigerate to chill the beverage. Serve cold and enjoy the refreshing antioxidant drink.

Notes

  • You can substitute black tea if green tea is unavailable, adjusting steeping time accordingly.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor, but bottled lemon juice can be used in a pinch.
  • Adjust the amount of sugar based on your sweetness preference or substitute with a natural sweetener.
  • This drink is best served chilled and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
