Description

These Blueberry Yogurt Swirl Dog Paw Treats are a healthy, homemade frozen snack perfect for dogs. Made with plain Greek yogurt and fresh or frozen blueberries, these treats are simple to prepare and free from harmful additives like xylitol. The paw-shaped silicone molds add a fun element, making them a delightful reward for your furry friend during warm days or after exercise.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened and xylitol-free)
  • 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Blueberry Purée: In a blender or food processor, blend the blueberries with 1 tablespoon of water until smooth. Set the purée aside for swirling.
  2. Fill the Molds Partially: Spoon a small amount of plain Greek yogurt into silicone paw-shaped molds, filling each cavity about halfway to create the base of the treat.
  3. Add Blueberry Swirl: Add a small spoonful of the blueberry purée on top of the yogurt in each mold. Use a toothpick to gently swirl the blueberry purée and yogurt together to create a marbled effect.
  4. Fill the Molds Completely: If needed, fill each mold the rest of the way with more plain Greek yogurt to cover the swirl beautifully.
  5. Freeze the Treats: Place the filled molds in the freezer and freeze for at least 3 to 4 hours, or until completely solid.
  6. Store the Treats: Once frozen, pop the treats out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the freezer to keep fresh until serving.

Notes

  • Use silicone molds for easy release and fun shapes.
  • Always use plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt with no added sweeteners or xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • These treats are best served frozen for a refreshing snack.
  • Check with your vet if your dog has dietary restrictions before introducing new treats.
