Description

This delicious burger with fried egg and special sauce recipe combines juicy ground chuck patties topped with melted cheddar, creamy avocado slices, and a perfectly fried egg. The homemade special sauce adds a tangy, flavorful kick that elevates the classic burger experience. Ready in just 35 minutes, this hearty meal is perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Burger and Toppings

  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 sesame seed buns
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons relish
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Special Sauce: In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, relish, white vinegar, mustard, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir until well combined, then refrigerate to let flavors meld while you prepare the rest of the burger.
  2. Toast the Buns: Spread butter on the cut sides of the sesame seed buns. Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the buns butter-side down until golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Beef Patties: Shape the ground chuck into 4 evenly sized patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in the skillet over medium-high heat. Add patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, flipping only once. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  4. Fry the Eggs: In a separate skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs and cook until the whites are fully set but the yolks remain runny, or cook to your preferred doneness.
  5. Assemble the Burgers: Spread a generous amount of the prepared special sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer with sliced avocado, then place the cheeseburger patty on top, followed by a fried egg. Cover with the top half of the bun.
  6. Serve Immediately: Serve your burgers right away to enjoy the perfect combination of warm patties, melted cheese, and creamy avocado paired with the runny egg and flavorful sauce.

Notes

  • For a fully cooked egg, cook the eggs longer until both whites and yolks are firm.
  • You can substitute ground chuck with ground beef of your choice if preferred.
  • The special sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Feel free to add lettuce, tomato, or pickles to customize your burger further.
  • Butter can be swapped with margarine or olive oil for toasting buns if desired.
