Ingredients
Scale
Meat
- 4 bone-in pork chops, about 1-inch thick
Seasoning
- 1 packet (1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Other
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat and Season: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels, then season both sides evenly with salt, black pepper, and half of the ranch seasoning mix.
- Sear the Pork Chops: Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Place the pork chops in the skillet and sear for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until they develop a golden brown crust.
- Prepare Cheddar-Ranch Topping: In a small bowl, combine shredded cheddar cheese with the remaining ranch seasoning mix. Spread a thin layer of sour cream over the top of each seared pork chop, then sprinkle the cheddar and ranch cheese mixture evenly over them.
- Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Rest and Garnish: Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle smoked paprika or garlic powder onto the seasoning mix before cooking.
- Serve alongside classic mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp green salad for a complete meal.
