Description

These Churro Cheesecake Bars combine the flaky, buttery goodness of crescent roll dough with a creamy cinnamon-sugar cheesecake filling. Topped with a buttery cinnamon sugar crust, they’re an easy-to-make, indulgent dessert perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough and Topping

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Filling

  • 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar with 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, then set this mixture aside for layering.
  3. Layer Crescent Dough: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, creating the base layer.
  4. Add Cinnamon Sugar Base: Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the bottom layer of dough.
  5. Prepare Cheesecake Filling: In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  6. Spread Filling: Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the cinnamon-sugar coated bottom dough layer in the pan.
  7. Top with Second Dough Layer: Unroll the second can of crescent dough and place it gently over the cream cheese layer, pressing lightly to cover the filling completely.
  8. Add Butter and Cinnamon Sugar Topping: Pour the melted unsalted butter evenly over the top dough layer, then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture on top for a sweet, crispy finish.
  9. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and baked through.
  10. Cool and Chill: Allow the bars to cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set before cutting into 12 equal squares for serving.

Notes

  • For an extra crunchy topping, sprinkle coarse sugar on top before baking.
  • These bars are best served chilled to maintain their creamy texture.
  • Store leftover bars in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in an airtight container.
