This Maple Glazed Chicken recipe offers a deliciously sweet and tangy flavor with a perfectly cooked juicy chicken breast. Quick and easy to prepare, it’s ideal for a flavorful weeknight dinner that comes together in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 16 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 large breasts), sliced in half lengthwise
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
Maple Glaze
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Season and Cook Chicken: Season the chicken breasts evenly with salt and black pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides and fully cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare Maple Glaze: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, maple syrup, lemon juice, cornstarch, minced garlic, ground ginger, and water. Whisk the mixture continuously until the cornstarch dissolves and the sauce thickens slightly, forming a smooth glaze.
- Glaze and Serve: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss gently to coat each piece thoroughly in the maple glaze. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy the delicious sweet and tangy flavors.
Notes
- For even cooking, slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create thinner cutlets.
- Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor in the glaze.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a bit more water to adjust the consistency.
- To add a spicy kick, consider adding a pinch of chili flakes to the glaze.
- Check chicken’s internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure it’s fully cooked.
