Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 2 naan bread (store-bought or homemade)
Toppings
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
Seasonings and Oils
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven or air fryer: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). If you’re using a traditional oven, line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Prepare the naan: Place the naan bread on the baking sheet or in the air fryer basket. Brush each naan lightly with olive oil, then season with a pinch of salt, pepper, and if desired, garlic powder and dried oregano for extra flavor.
- Assemble the pizzas: Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over each naan, then top with halved cherry tomatoes. Scatter torn fresh basil leaves on top and add a final pinch of salt and pepper to enhance the taste.
- Bake the naan pizzas: For oven baking, place the pizzas in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese has fully melted and is bubbling and the edges of the naan turn golden brown.
- Air fry the pizzas: If using an air fryer, cook the naan pizzas at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the naan edges are crispy.
- Finishing touches: When the pizzas are done, remove them and drizzle each with balsamic glaze to add a sweet and tangy flavor dimension. Add more fresh basil leaves if you like for added freshness.
- Serve: Slice the pizzas and serve immediately to enjoy the perfect balance of chewy naan, melted cheese, juicy tomatoes, and aromatic basil in every bite.
Notes
- You can substitute the naan with pita bread or flatbread if preferred.
- For a lower-calorie version, use part-skim mozzarella cheese.
- If fresh basil is unavailable, dried basil can be used but add it before baking to release flavor.
- Balsamic glaze can be substituted with a balsamic vinegar reduction or omitted entirely for a less sweet topping.
- This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to serve more guests.
- Leftover naan pizzas can be reheated in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to retain crispiness.
