Description

Delicious and easy-to-make savory chicken wraps featuring grilled chicken breasts paired with fresh vegetables and a creamy garlic sauce. Perfect for a quick lunch or light dinner, these wraps combine tender grilled chicken with crisp lettuce, tomato, and optional cucumber and red onion, all wrapped in warm flour tortillas and drizzled with a zesty garlic cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Wraps

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced (optional)
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced (optional)

Garlic Cream Sauce

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat Grill: Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat to prepare for cooking the chicken breasts evenly.
  2. Season Chicken: Brush both sides of the chicken breasts with olive oil and season liberally with salt and pepper to enhance the flavor.
  3. Grill Chicken: Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). This ensures juicy, tender chicken with a lovely char.
  4. Prepare Garlic Cream Sauce: While the chicken cooks, in a small bowl combine sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper. Stir the mixture well until smooth and creamy.
  5. Rest and Slice Chicken: Once grilled, allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes to retain juices, then slice it into thin strips for easy wrapping.
  6. Assemble Wraps: Lay a tortilla flat and layer with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, cucumber slices, and red onion if desired. Add grilled chicken strips on top of the veggies.
  7. Add Sauce and Roll: Drizzle the garlic cream sauce generously over the chicken and vegetables. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll tightly to form a secure wrap.
  8. Serve or Pack: Serve the wraps immediately for best flavor or wrap tightly with foil for a convenient packed lunch or meal on the go.

Notes

  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream in the garlic cream sauce for a lighter option.
  • Feel free to add other toppings like avocado, shredded cheese, or bell peppers for extra flavor and texture.
  • Grilling time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts; always use a meat thermometer to ensure proper cooking.
  • Warm tortillas slightly before assembly to make rolling easier and prevent tearing.
  • If grilling is not available, chicken can be cooked in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked.
