Description

This Sugar Free Lemonade recipe offers a refreshing, guilt-free alternative to traditional lemonade by using natural, zero-calorie sweeteners like erythritol and liquid stevia. Perfect for a hot day, it combines freshly squeezed lemon juice with a simple syrup made from erythritol, creating a crisp and tangy beverage that’s both hydrating and low in sugar.

Ingredients

Scale

Lemonade

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
  • 4 cups cold filtered water
  • 1/3 cup granulated erythritol or monk fruit sweetener (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid stevia (optional)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Lemon slices, for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lemons: Roll the lemons firmly on the countertop to release more juice. Slice and squeeze until you have 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
  2. Make the sweet syrup: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine 1 cup of the water with the erythritol or monk fruit sweetener. Stir continuously until fully dissolved to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  3. Combine ingredients: In a large pitcher, pour in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the cooled sweetened mixture.
  4. Add remaining water: Add the remaining 3 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir well to combine everything thoroughly.
  5. Adjust sweetness: Taste the lemonade and if desired, add a few drops of liquid stevia to reach your preferred sweetness level.
  6. Serve: Add ice cubes to the pitcher or individual glasses. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if you like, then serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by using more or less erythritol or monk fruit sweetener according to your taste preference.
  • Liquid stevia is optional and helps to enhance sweetness without adding calories.
  • Refrigerate any leftover lemonade in a sealed container for up to 3 days for best freshness.
  • Fresh mint leaves add a pleasant aroma and freshness when used as garnish.
  • For a fizzy version, substitute some of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
